In 2023, BDA became the only Association representing Türkiye to become a member of the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI).

GNDI was established in December 2012 with the aim of developing close cooperation between organisations similar to BDA, each of which is recognised as a leader in their respective countries, and represents more than 180,000 individual directors and governance professionals.

GNDI is a “networking” organisation with 26 NGOs representing board members, including our stakeholder Institute of Directors – “IoD”, one of the UK’s oldest NGOs, and the National Association of Corporate Directors – NACD, one of the largest in the USA.

Objective: To ensure that directors worldwide are aware of emerging governance issues, to collaborate with directors to create good governance policies and practices, and to develop and promote leading practices and programmes that enhance directors’ ability to deliver sustainable performance for the benefit of shareholders, the economy and society.

Vision: Through the GNDI network, to become a recognised world leader in corporate governance and provide guidance to improve board effectiveness.

Mission: Strengthening corporate governance and thought leadership through collaboration between the world’s leading board/director organisations.

BDA is represented in GNDI by Mehmet Sami (BDA Chair/GNDI Main Representative and Strategy Committee Member), Sevdil Yıldırım (BDA Vice Chair/GNDI Policy Committee Member) and Pınar Keser (YÜD Secretary General/GNDI Second Representative).
